November’ 2013: Washington: On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, American
President Barack Obama wished all Indian citizens a ‘Happy Diwali and a Saal
Mubarak.’ The Times of India reported
that Barack Obama said, “the festival reminded Americans that the US is home to
many faiths and traditions, and that our diversity makes us stronger."

White House Diwali celebrations which was started by George Bush back in 2003.
This year this ‘festival of light’ will be celebrated at the White House on the
5th of November and the First Lady will present remarks.
QUOTING OBAMA:-
Over the last five years, Michelle and I have been honoured to have the chance to observe this ancient holiday, both at the White House and in India, and we wish all those celebrating this weekend a Happy Diwali and Saal Mubarak."
