Will jab tak hai jaan give huge competition to Son of sardaar ? Will son of sardaar can recover its cost due to clash with Yash Chopra`s jab tak hai jaan? These questions were much talked in the industry before the release. But now the weekend collections of both films are out. Jab tak hai jaan and Son of sardaar has given tough competition to each other. In mass belt and in Single screen theatres, Son of sardaar is doing huge business. In northern India (Punjab,Chandigarh,Haryana,Bihar and Rajasthan) Son of sardaar did well than Yash Raj Films`s Jab tak hai jaan. But in metro cities and multiplexes, Shahrukh Khan`s Jab tak hai jaan has taken earth shattered opening.
Jab tak hai jaan collected 15 crore rupees on its first day, which are huge collections for Diwali release. Its competitor  Son of sardaar collected 10 crore rupees on its first day, which are less than Jab Tak Hai Jaan's opening collections. But we can not forget,  YRF has released jab tak hai jaan in 2500 screens and Viacom 18 released SOS in just 2000 screens. In the 6 day weekend, YRF's jab tak hai jaan collected 82 crore rupees and SOS collected 59 crore rupees for Viacom 18's pocket. The breakdown of both film's collection are following:
                                                    (JAB TAK HAI JAAN)
                                                    1st DAY:15 CRORE
                                                   2nd DAY:19.5 CRORE
                                                   3rd DAY:14.5 CRORE
                                                    4th DAY:11 CRORE
                                                    5th DAY:11 CRORE
                                                    6th DAY: 4 CRORE
6th day's collection dropped due to Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackrey`s death.
                                                     (SON OF SARDAAR)
                                                     1st DAY:10 CRORE
                                                     2nd DAY:16 CRORE
                                                     3rd DAY:12.5 CRORE
                                                     4th DAY:9.25 CRORE
                                                     5th DAY:8.5 CRORE
                                                     6th DAY:11 CRORE
But in overseas as expected, Jab tak hai jaan is doing much better than Son of Sardar. In Pakistan, SRK has broken his own film Don 2's opening record. It collected 93 lakhs rupees on first day in Pakistan  In Newzealand, Jab tak hai jaan has shattered all the previous records. Overseas collections of jab tak hai jaan are 45 crore rupees in 6 days, which is a new record. Son of sardaar has no future in overseas. It collected just 12 crore rupees from overseas in the weekend.
