In the aftermath of the September riots, several Muslim families had taken a refuge at Hussainpur village. While Mohammadpur Raisingh village has Jat dominance, Hussainpur village has a Muslim population.

Mohammadpur Raisingh village comes under the jurisdictions of Baurakalan police station and Hussainpur village comes under the jurisdictions of Budhana police station. Many angry locals, on Wednesday evening, encircled the Budhana police station as the news of the killings spread across.
The police tried to control the situation till late in the night. On the other hand, five companies of Provincial Armed forces and policemen from the adjoining districts were rushed to the places to control the situation and ensure piece.

The families sheltered in Hussainpur wanted to return to their village for which a peace committee was formed. A villager Rajendra Fauzi was attacked when he went to water his field. He somehow managed to escape, returned the village and informed the other villagers about it. The angry villagers then went on to look for those responsible for the attack when clashes took place in which three boys were killed.

“Strong action is being initiated against those spoiling the atmosphere of Muzaffarnagar,” assured Uttar Pradesh’s CM Akhilesh Yadav. He added that Samajwadi Party won’t compromise with communal forces.

BJP president Rajnath Singh appealed the people to maintain peace and calm. Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde told that they were keeping a watch on the situation and that reports were being sought from Uttar Pradesh.

A three-judge bench ordered the Akhilesh Yadav government to file reports over the latest killings. In its latest hearings the court said that it might consider an independent probe if the state government failed to contain the flare-up.
